Paityn's Baby Shower!

Cover--Paityn's Mini-Album
Good morning everyone!! This is my final post for Paityn's Mini-Album. The baby shower was held a couple of weeks ago, but I've been busy with school, so it took a while for me to finish the series.

Below I prepared a slideshow of the inside pages, but first I wanted you all to see Miss Hadley present the book to her mother. I made her wait until the very last gift. What a cutie she is!!

Hadley gives the Mini-Album to her mother.
As are a few pictures of the party and Paityn's Mini-Album--

Here is a close-up of the banner. I used Recollections pre-cut banners and papers I had on hand to decorate. The rosettes with the rhinestones were in the party section at Michaels! I thought that was genius!! The letters are Recollections as well, and they are soooo sparkly!

Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge

Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge
Happy Papertrey Blog Hop evening to you all! Tonight I created a quick and simple card using some new goodies I purchased last month. With the bustle of the Holidays, baby showers, and spring semester starting at school, there hasn't been a lot of time for card-making, so I'm glad to be participating tonight!

Below is the inspiration photo for this month's challenge. I was immediately drawn to the black and white theme with the strong splash of reds, pinks and greens. I added a little blue for my berries to create contrast. I love this inspirational design so much, I'll probably use it make more cards for Valentine's Day.

On another note, I've been piddling around with botanic line drawing...or as some may call it, glorified doodling! This is a link to my first wreath I drew, and below is a second wreath.

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy Blog Hopping!!

My First Wreath!

My first wreath!
Good very early morning everyone! If you are up, like me, in the too early to be up morning, then I hope you are able to get some rest! While I love to scrapbook memories, make minis and banners, and create all sorts of cards, I am yearning to learn how to create my own art. The wreath above is my first attempt at doing just that. I've made several sketches, watercolor pieces, and near-art, but this is the first one that I can proudly publish on my blog.

I've graduated somewhat from You Tube to Skill Share where I found Peggy Dean aka The Pigeon Letters. She is a fantastic artist. She, along with other artist and how-to types upload detailed videos sharing all sorts of techniques. It is a subscription service, but to me it's so much cheaper, and easier, than waiting and hoping for an art course at the local Junior College. Message me or leave a comment below if you would like a three-month trial for $.99 per month.

Finding Joy

Little Tangles #76-Anything Goes
Hello and happy almost the end of January to you! Here is a quick card I made for Little Tangles #76-Anything Goes. I recently ordered the Neat & Tangled Pentagon Stencil and have been wanting to use it on a project. So I sponged some PTI Lemon Tart, Lavender Moon and Mint Julep onto the stencil for a rainbow effect. Then I used SSS Deep Purple to stamp the sentiment from Neat & Tangled's Scandinavian Prints. I thought a simple flower from the same set would finish it nicely.

Thanks for stopping by! There's plenty of time left to play along!!

Paityn's Mini-Part 2

Hadley's Choice
Good Sunday to you everyone! Last week was back-to-school take two for me, so crafting was minimal. I did get practice some line drawing and water color exercises, though. For this feature of Paityn's Mini-Album, my great-niece, Hadley, requested I include this stamp set, "Pick of the Litter" from WPlus9. I have shied away from stamp sets like this because I thought the coloring aspect would take forever. In reality, it didn't take very long at all. I'm so grateful to Kristina Werner and Sandy Allnock's videos. Watching them time and again gave me confidence to give this a try.

Today I'm playing along with Simon Says: Start Afresh. The Monday challenge asked us to use something 'new' in our stash. This stamp set was a gift to me from my son and daughter-in-law as I had requested a Simon Says Stamp gift card for Christmas. I'm so glad I took a risk and tried a little coloring to broaden my skills.

What is something new you've tried this year? Please comment below...I'd love to visit your blog or photo to see your work!
